Accepted for publication

Almost two years ago, Jeremy wrote an article and submitted it to a journal called "The Explicator." After waiting for so long, he was finally notified that his article was accepted and will be published this year.

This is exciting to me, especially because he was all self-motivated for this piece. When he submitted the piece, he was preparing to go back to school and the prospect of being able to write on his resume that he was published was enticing, but definitely not guaranteed. He had only a few months before applications were due and sure enough, there was no news by then. But he enjoyed the process and overall knew it would help him in his academic life. It was worth the time. So, what I'm saying is that he had no advisors pushing him to submit and no visible payoff, but he got 'er done. Nice.
